Performance Agreements

A Performance Agreement (DOCX) or Classification Worksheet (DOCX) is used to engage the services of performers for concerts, lectures, and various theatrical and musical productions (Performances). Such Performances are governed by UCI Policy Sec. 712-12: Guidelines for Performance Agreements. Performances may include, but is not limited to the following:

Performances Over $2,000

A Performance Agreement (DOCX) is required between the university and Artist and/or Agency for performances over $2,000.00

The following steps are required BEFORE a performance:

  1. Initiate a KFS Requisition and route the requisition internally through your fiscal officer/unit
  2. Draft a Performance Agreement and forward a WORD copy to contracts@uci.edu and provide the KFS Requisition number
  3. Once an approved agreement is provided by our Contracts team, obtain signatures
  4. Once the Performance Agreement is signed by a Procurement Services signatory, the Contracts Team will review/approve the KFS PO for payment purposes

Performances $2,000 and below

Performances $2,000.00 and below do not require a signed Performance Agreement. The department is only required to complete and sign the Classification Worksheet (DOCX).

The following steps are required BEFORE a performance:

  1. Initiate a KFS Requisition and route the requisition internally through your fiscal officer/unit
  2. Complete, sign and email contracts@uci.edu a copy of the Classification Worksheet and provide the KFS Requisition number
  3. Once the Contracts team receives the signed Classification Worksheet, the Contracts Team will review/approve the KFS PO for payment purposes

Please note, people invited by the university to serve as guest speakers or participants and paid via Honorariums do not require a Performance Agreement. For more information review the Honoraria guidelines.
